Latino Arts and Culture Initiatives

Our motto “la cultura cura” (culture heals), highlights ARTS & CULTURE are at the core of our diverse Latino identities.  Our Latino Arts & Culture Initiatives will elevate and amplify our cultural richness, promote healing and wellbeing, and define “Latinidad” in all its diversity.

CLUES Latino Arts & Culture initiatives will:

• Build Community: CLUES will create welcoming environments for artistic and cultural expression, foster community dialogue, develop and strengthen relationships amongst individuals and families, and pass on our traditions to younger generations.
• Define Narratives: We will define ourselves for ourselves – exploring the diversity of our community, where we came from, and where we are going. Through the arts, we will amplify narratives that provide a sense of belonging and power. Our authentic stories will provide support to marginalized members of our community as they overcome fear and isolation.
• Empower for Social Change: By bringing people together through the arts, we will use storytelling to build Latino leaders for systems change. Art, cultural expression, and folk traditions will be our tools as we promote racial equity, create welcoming communities, improve health and wellness, and increase upward socio-economic mobility for Latinos in Minnesota.
