Gonzalo Petschen was named President of Cargill’s Dressings, Sauces and Oils business in August 2012 and is responsible for the Business Unit’s profitability and growth. He previously served as Business Unit Leader for Cargill’s Starches and Sweeteners South America from 2010 – 2012.
Gonzalo joined Cargill in 1996 with the Corn Milling Business Unit in Memphis, Tennessee as a Senior Merchant and later held various positions in merchandising and risk management. He served as the Worldwide Commercial Manager and General Manager for the Americas for the Malt Business Unit from 2001 – 2010. In his role as Commercial Manager, Gonzalo was responsible for Malt’s global sales, risk management and supply chain functions. As General Manager of the Americas, he was responsible for the Malt operations in Canada, the United States and Argentina.
Prior to joining Cargill, Gonzalo worked for the Archer Daniels Midland Company as General Manager for the Flour Milling Business in Mexico.
Gonzalo holds an MBA from The Ohio State University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton.
Gonzalo was born in Chile and has lived in North America, South America and Europe. He is married to Mary and they have 3 children; Nicolas (17), Antonia (13), and Isabella (10).
